〔Long Version〕
PyCon HK 2026 is Hong Kong’s premier Python conference and one of more than 50 PyCon events held annually around the world. Now in its 12th year, the conference embraces the theme “Code, Connect and Carry On”, celebrating the resilience and continued growth of Hong Kong’s Python community in the AI era.
As Python continues to power AI, automation, and technological innovation, data scientists, developers, engineers, analysts, educators, and students will come together to explore how to apply these rapidly evolving technologies responsibly while keeping people at the centre. We believe Python and AI can work hand in hand to unlock limitless creativity. Together, we can seize new opportunities and help shape a people-centred technological future.
Everyone interested in AI, Python, or technology is welcome to join us at the Hong Kong Institute of Information Technology in Tseung Kwan O on November 14, 2026, for a day of insightful talks, hands-on experiences, and meaningful community connections. A Development Sprint will follow on November 15. Let’s put “Code, Connect and Carry On” into practice — embracing Python and AI as we move forward together with resilience and determination.
Venue: Hong Kong Institute of Information Technology (HKIIT), located at the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE), Lee Wai Lee campus, Tseung Kwan O.
Day 1 - Conference Day: November 14, 2026
PyCon HK 2026's Conference Day features 3 tracks of talks and sessions, covering a range of topics across Python, AI, data, software engineering, and community. Featured sessions include:
[Keynote] Paul Everitt: Was, Is, Will Be: Python History, Software Engineering, And AI Our Way
Paul Everitt, Developer Advocate at JetBrains and co-founder of Zope Corporation, explores Python's evolution and the strength of its community. Discover how agentic coding is reshaping the profession and community, and what we can do together through a Python AI project built for us.
Jacky Chan: AI 聽到聲音時,會聯想到乜嘢?
Jacky Chan, a Hong Kong researcher who builds and experiments with local AI systems, explores how multimodal models form associations with sound. His experiments with raw audio and prompting reveal differences between models and point toward new possibilities for AI evaluation and comparison.
Hon Kwan Shun Quinson: Property-Based Testing with Hypothesis
Hon Kwan Shun Quinson, an M.Phil. student in Computer Science at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, explores the application of LLMs in software development. See how property-based testing with Hypothesis can generate structured inputs, test a wider range of cases, and improve confidence in Python code.
Indy Ho: Python Applications in Sports Science, Injury Prevention and Physical Fitness Promotion
Indy Ho, a physiotherapist and Assistant Professor at the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong(THEi), explores the use of Python in sports science, injury prevention, and human performance. Learn how Python supports predictive analytics with biomechanics data and explore pose estimation approaches through practical examples and live YOLO-Pose demonstrations.

PyCon is not normally a free event. In keeping with the PyCon tradition: “Everyone who can, pays.”
However, given the educational nature of this year’s venue, we have decided to offer free admission to all participants. Attendees can choose to make a contribution to help cover essential conference expenses — including venue hire, speaker travel, community meetups, and equipment — and support the continued development of Hong Kong’s Python community.
A contribution of HK$240 or more includes a complimentary T-shirt. Patrons who donate HK$1,000 or more will receive recognition by name on our official website.
You are also welcome to join PyNight, our official after-party on Day 1, for HK$350. The location will be announced later. Join fellow participants after the conference to continue conversations, share ideas, and build connections.
Important: Day 1 (Conference, November 14, 2026) and Day 2 (Development Sprint, November 15, 2026) require separate tickets.
Secure your T-shirt order by 23:59 HKT on October 26, 2026, and your PyNight ticket by 23:59 HKT on November 10, 2026.
